Terms

Last updated: August 26, 2024.

By using our resources, you agree to our terms. The terms are simple and will only take a few minutes to read.

What We Offer

We offer information and guides to improve your digital security. This information includes configuring operating system security settings, data encryption, and using other tools that will help you protect your fundamental rights.

FOI is an independent operation focused on sharing knowledge, not making money. FOI does not receive revenue from the tools shared on the site, and its sole purpose is to help you protect your digital rights.

Our Content

Everything we share on the site is offered "as-is." Despite the fact that we try to keep our guides always accurate and up-to-date, we are still humans who sometimes make mistakes, and we cannot guarantee that everything you find on the site is error-free.

We are not responsible for any damage that may arise from following the instructions on the site. The site gives you the ability to keep your data always in your and only your hands — which means that the responsibility for securely storing passwords, encryption and recovery keys, and/or other important data is entirely on you — no one else can have your key, and accordingly, if you lose it, no one can help you except yourself.

To reduce risks, enlist the help of friends, experts, people you trust. Create backups for important data.

What You Can Offer Us
